Myofascial Trigger Point Release
Targeting tight muscle knots directly at the source — not just masking the pain
What Is Dry Needling Therapy?
Dry needling therapy in Ranchi is a modern, evidence-based physiotherapy technique where thin, sterile needles are inserted directly into myofascial trigger points — the tight, painful knots that form in your muscles due to overuse, injury, or stress.
Unlike medication, dry needling addresses the root cause of pain at the muscular level. It stimulates the muscle to relax, improves blood flow, and resets the pain signals sent to your brain.
The term “dry” means no medication or fluid is injected — only a thin, solid needle. The technique is grounded in modern anatomy, neuroscience, and musculoskeletal medicine — not Traditional Chinese Medicine.
At BK Spine Care Physiotherapy Clinic, Ranchi, dry needling is performed exclusively by Dr. Bedprakash Maurya (PT) using sterile, single-use needles in a clean, safe clinical environment.

How Dry Needling Therapy Works
A simple, structured 4-step clinical process for effective trigger point release at our Ranchi clinic
Assessment & Diagnosis
Dr. Bedprakash Maurya evaluates your pain pattern, muscle tension, and trigger points through hands-on palpation.
Precise Needle Insertion
A fine, sterile needle is inserted directly into the trigger point — targeting the exact source of your pain.

What to Expect During Your Dry Needling Session
We believe in complete transparency. Here is exactly what happens before, during, and after your dry needling therapy session at BK Spine Care, Ranchi
Before the Session
Dr. Maurya reviews your medical history and conducts a thorough physical assessment. He palpates your muscles to identify active trigger points and explains the procedure in detail. You are encouraged to ask questions before starting.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area. Stay hydrated and have a light meal before your session.
During the Session
Fine, sterile needles are inserted into the identified trigger points. You may feel a mild aching or a brief muscle twitch — this is the Local Twitch Response (LTR) and confirms the needle has hit the trigger point.
Most sessions last 20–40 minutes. Needles may be left in place for a few minutes or may be manipulated gently to maximize the therapeutic response.
After the Session
Some patients feel immediate relief, while others experience a 24–48 hour period of mild muscle soreness — similar to a post-workout feeling. This is completely normal and indicates the healing process has begun.
Drink plenty of water, apply a warm compress if needed, and do gentle stretches as recommended by Dr. Maurya.
Follow-Up Plan
A typical course of treatment is 3–6 sessions spaced 5–7 days apart. Chronic conditions may require more. Progress is assessed at each visit and the plan is adjusted accordingly.
Home exercises, posture correction advice, and lifestyle modifications are prescribed to ensure long-term results and prevent recurrence.
